Body Reassembly is an ongoing research by Pixie Tan to understand how the image of the body shapes design.
It is a collaborative and multi-disciplinary investigation into the possibilities of alternative representation of the body. It hopes that through making and inquisitive interrogation of inherited knowledge (Template) and the body’s adaptation when it engages with design (Behaviour), new modes of seeing the body will emerge (Possibilities).
The project is interested in engaging new collaborators in this research. Previous sessions of making have involved cinematographers, choreographers, pattern makers and photographers. The project is interested in the input and perspective of researchers and practitioners from a wide variety of background, be it in the Arts, Science or Mathematics. Please get in touch via email@example.com with a short introduction and how you might like to collaborate.
